transitioning

i have officially arrived in st. louis and am beginning my second year of voluntary service. fortunately our family had the opportunity to stop and visit my aunt laura and uncle abdula and their kids, zach and adam in maryland before heading to the airport to send me on my way. we had a great visit together filled with lots of games and of course food. i hadn't seen them in far too long and so it was a great chance to catch up. my flight to st. louis was fine and heather, dan and the new vser, tiffany were at the airport to pick me up last night. today i have been unpacking, making my room home, running errands and dealing with all those dumb details of moving to a new place. this morning i took a walk to check out my new placement at la clinica and the walk is less than 10 minutes from our house!! i am so happy to be back and can't wait to reconnect with people here and start my job tomorrow morning! the pictures are of me, zach, adam and annika and the other is of the family cooking up some grub

Yea! Although I must say this is a pretty elaborate scheme to get another free desert at the Chocolate Bar.

Glad things went smoothly on both ends of your trip. We're eager to hear about new dynamics in the house, and, of course, the new job. I tried to call a couple times today. No answering machine? I'm trying to be brave about your absence - sigh - tough to be a left behind mom.
