some more pyramids

yesterday we all headed out to see the step pyramids of saqqara. these pyramids are the oldest in egypt and date back to the old dynasty, around 2600 bc. a mummy of king mennere is in the museum at the pyramids and is the oldest mummy ever found and unbelievably still has 9 out of 10 ten toes! later in the evening merle and robert hosted us at their apartment for a meal which was of course followed by our daily settlers game. today mom, dad, annika, merle and robert went to alexandria and adam, sarah and i stayed in cairo. sarah and i did a little shopping around maadi and then we all made a curry to take with us out to the red sea tomorrow. adam and sarah's landlord has a place at ain sokhna on the red sea and she is letting us go stay there for a night. i am excited to get some time at the beach and we are even taking the dogs with us! it should be fun. the pictures are of dad and robert examining a wall at the saqqara pyramids, the largest step pyramid at saqqara (with adam and dad if you look hard), and adam with the super creepiest mustache ever, don't worry he did shave it
