this weekend st. louis had a "taste of st. louis" festival downtown, with cooking competitions, local restaurants selling their specialties, live music and lots of free goodies. we parused the event gathering freebies, taking in some music, eating some great food and sweating buckets. the weather in st. louis has been acting very virginia-like with the cold weather one day and high 90's the next, i have to check the weather every morning before i leave just to know what to wear or i suffer through the work day in the wrong outfit. sunday a friend from church came over and we spent the afternoon catching up, going on a walk (and yes, sweating profusly once more) and killing some time before a young adult event. a family from the church invited all the young adults over to their house for a "bonfire" and games. we played a thrilling game of corn hole and were hosted with a spectacular array of gourmet foods prepared by marybeth. i had a great time spending the evening outside with this group from our church, despite several nasty mosquito bites. although all the weekends seem far too short here, going back to work really hasn't been too bad. i have been so thankful for how much i am liking my work at la clinica and don't mind going to work at all. i'll keep my fingers crossed that this is where my feelings stay! the pictures are of the st. louis mvs unit (dan worth, me, tiffany hochstetler, heather bender), me, tiffany and heather at the taste of st. louis festival, and the cooking competition stage
